Description
Proud Mary Flower Peacocks combines an elegant peacock print with Delft Blue floral motifs. The design winks at the 17th century: lush, decorative and yet crisply executed, as if you're holding a classic decorative plate in miniature. Finished using transfer technique and perfectly compact for a display cabinet or sideboard.
- Peacocks & flowers: rich detail in crisp blue and white
- Original Royal Delft design with deep blue tones.
- Compact collector's item, approximately 17 centimetres tall
Proud Mary is a modern tribute to Mary II, wife of stadtholder William III, who was known during the Dutch Golden Age as an avid collector of Delft Blue. This historical inspiration sparked the idea of giving Royal Delft's iconic Delft Blue a contemporary twist. The figurine consists of four interchangeable parts: the head, the collar, the bodice and the skirt. Proud Mary was designed by Koens & Middelkoop, and the Delft Blue artwork was subsequently hand-finished by the designers and master painters of Royal Delft.
