Buying christmas tree lights at The Christmas Shop
Christmas tree lights are the heart of every decorated tree, and at The Christmas Shop it's all about strings that last for years. Almost the entire range comes from Lumineo, a specialist in decorative LED lighting for indoors and out.
You can choose anything from eighty bulbs for a small tree to more than fifteen hundred for a full, generous tree, all in a handful of warm light colours. How many christmas tree lights you need depends mainly on the size of your tree. A small one-metre tree is happy with around a hundred bulbs, a tree of one and a half metres looks full with two to three hundred, and a large, dense tree easily calls for more than a thousand.
Cluster, compact or basis: the right type
The type of string decides how full your tree looks, and Lumineo offers three. Each one gives a different effect:
- Cluster lights pack the bulbs very close together, perfect for rich, dense ribbons of light woven deep into the tree.
- Compact lights sit in between, with shorter gaps than an ordinary string.
- The basic string has a longer cable with more space between the bulbs, ideal for a large tree, a wreath or a window.
If you can't decide, compact is a safe choice almost every time.
Warm white, classic warm or soft gold: the right colour
The light colour sets the mood of the whole room. Classic warm gives that familiar, cosy glow most people picture at Christmas, while soft gold looks a touch softer and more golden. If you want movement in the tree, choose a string with a twinkle function, where some of the bulbs gently flicker on and off. Add a few LED candles on the table and the same warm glow carries through the room.
Christmas lights for indoors and out
Many of Lumineo's strings work both indoors and outdoors, thanks to an IP44 rating that protects them against moisture. That means you can use the same lights in the tree, along the façade or around the front door. Most strings also have a built-in eight-hour timer, so the lights come on each evening by themselves. And because they're LED, they stay cool and use very little power, even after a long evening.
