Buying Spieluhrenwelt snow globes and music boxes at The Christmas Shop
Spieluhrenwelt brings together two Christmas classics in one object: the snow globe and the music box. The German manufacturer makes its musical movements largely in its own workshops, which you can hear in the precision of the turning scene and the melody. At The Christmas Shop you'll find a wide selection of the brand, from glass snow globes with a detailed winter scene to wooden music boxes. If you'd rather hear the mechanism up close first, you're welcome in our shop in Delft.
A musical snow globe is a snow globe with a built-in movement that plays a melody and turns the scene at the same time. On many Spieluhrenwelt models the snow swirls up automatically as soon as the music starts, without any shaking. You wind it up with a small key underneath the base.
Snow globes with music and automatic snow swirl
Snow globes with music are at the heart of the Spieluhrenwelt range. What sets them apart from an ordinary snow globe is the movement: the figures turn and the snow lifts on its own, carried by the Christmas tune. Think of a snowman slowly spinning, a Christmas train winding through a snowy village or a carousel under glass. For winter scenes without music, see our page of snow globes.
Music boxes and carousels with a Christmas tune
Music boxes by Spieluhrenwelt play a melody as soon as you wind them, often with a small figure turning along. The ballerina music box is the best known: a dancing ballerina spinning to her tune, loved as a gift and as a collector's piece. There are also wooden music boxes, carousels and Christmas music boxes with a classic tune. You'll find the full range on our page of music boxes.
Snow globes with animals and figures
Snow globes with animals and figures are a much loved theme within the brand. Dogs, deer and other animals each get their own winter scene, and familiar characters appear too, from a turning nutcracker to a Harry Potter snow globe. The built-in movement keeps every piece a little more alive than a static version, with motion and sound at once. Looking for nutcrackers on their own? Have a look at our nutcrackers too.
