Buying Friends Christmas baubles at The Christmas Shop
Friends Christmas baubles are officially licensed decorations based on the sitcom, usually made as hanging ornaments in resin, ceramic or glass. Most designs come straight from Central Perk: the coffee house logo, the worn orange sofa and the oversized white mug. They sit alongside the rest of our film and series ornaments.
What makes these ornaments work is that they start a conversation. A tree full of glass baubles looks lovely, but it is the pieces with a story behind them that visitors actually comment on. If you have recently moved to the Netherlands and are building a tree from scratch, a licensed ornament is a good place to begin. Our Christmas tree decorations cover the rest.
Central Perk on your Christmas tree
Central Perk is the motif that turns up in almost every Friends Christmas collection. The coffee house sign, the sagging orange sofa, the mug with the logo printed on it: images you recognise instantly. Alongside them you will find props from the flat itself, such as the purple door with the gold frame around the peephole. Small enough for a thin branch, striking enough to notice.
Friends ornaments as a gift
A Friends ornament is hard to get wrong for someone who loves the series. It is small, it is personal, and it comes back out of the box every December, which very few gifts manage. For Secret Santa or a birthday in the run-up to Christmas it works just as well as it does under the tree. For something in a similar mood, have a look at our food and drink ornaments.
A tree full of films and series
Friends is not the only licence in our collection. If you like decorating around your favourite films and series, you will also find Harry Potter baubles and Star Wars ornaments here, plus Disney and Marvel. Mixing them is fine, and a tree built entirely from licences looks better than you might expect, especially if you stick to two or three colours. We usually have one on display in our Delft shop.
