Buying Mark Roberts at The Christmas Shop
Our Mark Roberts selection includes fairies, Christmas elves, Santa figures and individual Christmas ornaments, all made and painted by hand. Sizes range from around twenty-five centimetres for the smaller models to over fifty centimetres for the larger pieces. Thanks to the wire armature in the arms and legs, every fairy or elf can be posed: seated on a branch, hanging in the tree, or standing on a sideboard. A Mark Roberts isn't mass-market decoration; it's a statement piece.
The fairies and elves by Mark Roberts
The fairies are the most recognisable part of Mark Roberts' work. Each fairy wears her own costume, often layered with fabric, lace and glitter, and has her own name within the collection. Alongside the fairies, Mark Roberts makes Christmas elves with pointed ears in green or red outfits, and elaborate Santa figures in long coats and finely detailed beards. Separate stands let the fairies and elves sit securely on a sideboard or table, and hangers allow them to float through the room.
Handmade in limited editions
Mark Roberts was founded in 1984 in Santa Ana, California, and has worked in limited editions ever since. The larger figures are Limited Edition pieces: numbered and supplied with a certificate of authenticity, much like a signed art print. Each costume is sewn separately, each face painted by hand, and no two pieces are entirely identical. The brand describes its work as heirloom quality, made to last through generations. That also explains the pricing, which sits well above mass-produced Christmas decoration.
Mark Roberts as a collectible
Many of our customers build their Mark Roberts collection year by year, adding a new fairy, elf or Santa from each seasonal release. Because the brand works in limited runs and seasonal series, older pieces often hold their value on the secondary market. Keep the original box and the certificate of authenticity: to collectors, those matter as much as the figure itself. Have a look at our other handcrafted Christmas figurines alongside Mark Roberts.
