Buying Frozen Christmas ornaments at The Christmas Shop
Frozen Christmas ornaments are hanging decorations shaped like the characters from the Disney film: Elsa in her ice blue gown, Anna in her travelling cloak and Olaf the snowman. At The Christmas Shop they come in several versions, moulded in plastic and fitted with a loop so they are ready for the tree straight away.
What sets them apart from the printed plastic baubles sold in most shops is that these are figures rather than spheres. Elsa hangs as Elsa, not as a ball with Elsa printed on it. Up close the difference is obvious, and these are the ornaments children keep coming back to look at.
Elsa, Anna and Olaf on the branches
Elsa is the most sought after Frozen ornament, recognisable by her ice blue dress and the white plait over her shoulder. She comes in the widest range of versions, in different poses and finishes. Anna brings a warmer note in deep blue and magenta, and with two versions she is the rarest of the three. Olaf, meanwhile, belongs in a Christmas tree more than any of them: a snowman who loves warm hugs, dangling among the lights.
Putting together a Frozen tree
A Frozen tree works best with a narrow colour palette: ice blue, white and silver, lifted by the odd accent in green or purple. Most ornaments in this collection are blue or white, so they sit together easily. Build the base around plain blue and white Christmas baubles. If you would rather have a broader Disney tree, mix them with the other Disney Christmas ornaments or the Winnie the Pooh ornaments.
Frozen ornaments as a gift
Frozen ornaments land well with a five year old and with an adult collector alike, which is unusual for Christmas decorations. Plastic also helps in a house with children or pets: it survives a fall from a low branch in a way glass does not. Many customers add one each year until the set is complete. If you would like to see them in person first, they are on display in our Christmas shop in Delft, where we work on Christmas all year round.
