Buying Disney Christmas village houses at The Christmas Shop
A Disney Christmas house is a lit miniature building from the Department 56 Disney Village series, hand-painted and produced in porcelain or polyresin. Each house works on its own, yet it is designed to form one winter town alongside the other pieces. Most collectors start with a single building and add to the display each season.
We stock the Department 56 Christmas houses across the range, including the Disney series. Our shop in Delft is the easiest place to judge the scale and the painted detail in person, and you are welcome to collect your order there instead of having it delivered.
Lit Disney houses from Mickey's Merry Christmas Village
The buildings set the tone of your display. Mickey's Merry Christmas Village is designed as one coherent town, with shops, homes and public buildings sharing the same scale and style. Snow on the roofs, garlands along the façades and a warm glow behind the windows: the hand-finished detailing is what sets these apart. Somewhere in the design there is almost always a hidden Mickey.
Figurines of Mickey, Minnie, Donald and Pluto
Figurines are what turn a row of houses into a scene. Skating on the square, presents being carried across the street, a dog pulling a sledge through the snow: each figurine stands on its own base, so you decide where the story happens. They measure just a few centimetres, which makes them ideal for filling the gaps between buildings.
From a single house to a full Disney Christmas village
Expanding a display usually works better through the surroundings than through another building. Snow-covered trees, lamp posts topped with mouse ears, a water tower or a short stretch of track fill the empty space and give the scene depth. The scale matches the other series from the brand, so mixing in pieces from other Christmas villages works well. As a gift, one house with a single figurine makes a good starting point.
